September is always the month when bookworms in the Philippines get excited because it is when the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) happens! MIBF is a 5-day event and it’s one of the biggest, most sought after and longest running fairs in the country because of the wide selection of books at great deals/prices! It was even better this year because National Bookstore decided to have its Book Binge Bazaar during the MIBF as well!
I’ve been going to the MIBF since 2009 and while I enjoyed going there in the past with office mates, friends and family, this year was extra special because I was able to go there with people who have the same passion for reading (and hoarding) books because I was with my fellow titas from Bookstagramers Philippines (BGPH). I started bookstagramming this year and there I was able to discover BGPH and decided to join right away! You may check their Instagram account @bookstagramers_ph if you’re interested to join too!
We were actually planning to have a big get together (north and south titas of BGPH) at the MIBF but due to the bad weather and conflict of schedules, we were only able to meet in small groups. I went there with some of the south titas and we were very happy to meet some awesome book bloggers who we’ve only talked to online. It was really nice to finally meet them in person!
Here are some photos from the event:

Of course, I didn’t leave the book fair empty-handed! Sharing with you my book haul from MIBF and Book Binge Bazaar:
These are now added to my huge TBR pile! I really need to get out of a reading slump soon!
Were you able to go to the MIBF and Book Binge Bazaar? Do you see any book/s that I should read right away? Share your thoughts in the comments!
